DJI has announced that it will soon launch DJI Mini 2, a high-performance camera drone. The camera drone is said to offer 4K video support and 4x optical zoom. Furthermore, the drone comes with OcuSync 2.0, DJI’s data transmission technology. The camera drone will come with upgraded features and flight capabilities. The transmission range between the drone and the controller has been extended to 10 kilometers (max).
DJI Mini 2 supports up to 4K video resolution at 30 frames per second at a 100MBPS bitrate. The drone comes with a 12MP camera and is equipped with a 1/2.3-inch sensor. The camera offers a wide-angle mode, 180-degrees, and sphere panoramas.
Moreover, the drone also comes with a feature called QuickShot Modes, consisting of Dronie, Helix, Rocket, Circle, and Boomerang. The drone has a maximum flight time of 31 minutes and features a 2250mAh battery. The company mentions that the new drone camera can resist 29-38kmph winds, and take off at a maximum altitude of 4,000 meters.
The iOS app, DJI Fly has also been upgraded, and now it is possible to directly connect the iPhone and the DJI Mini 2 without using a transmitter and download the captured video. Whenever the DJI Mini 2 is close to the iPhone, the DJI Fly app will automatically synchronize selected photos and videos at 20 MBPS.
The app could also be used to add soundtracks and filters to the photos and videos. The DJI Mini 2 is priced at $449. The DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo comes with a propeller holder, a two-way charging hub, a DJI 18W USB charger, a shoulder bag, two more sets of battery and spare propellers, and a bunch of extra spare screws, is priced at $599.
