Samsung Electronics Co. is not only limited to manufacturing new technology and smartphones but also committed to making progress in scientific and medical research areas. On Monday, Samsung announced that its laboratory, which is the hub for conducting a lot of research spanned over a vast area, has been recognized as an international institute to verify microbial-related tests.

The recognition will establish Samsung laboratories as one of the most vital ones and boost its capability to analyze antibacterial performance on its products. This indeed is hugely positive news for the whole company.

Samsung’s Eco-Life Lab was granted accreditation by TUV Rheinland AG, a Germany-based technical test service and certification organization. Moreover, TUV Rheinland accredited Samsung Eco-Life Lab with two International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certificates.

Samsung’s Eco-Life Lab is fairly new in its establishment, but that did not hinder it from acquiring the new certification. The South Korean tech giant’s Eco-Life Lab was established in January. Its main aim was to improve the quality of its health and hygiene-related products.

Additionally, the lab/ research center was also working towards figuring out the causes of smell and fungus with the use of products. Samsung’s Eco-Life Lab earned the ISO 22196 standard, which mainly focuses on measuring antibacterial activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces; the other ISO certificate that the lab received termed ISO 846 covers evaluation of the action of microorganisms.

The official acquirement of ISO certifications certainly is a big deal for any lab, to begin with. Furthermore, it comes at such a crucial time without a doubt.

As per the official announcement, Samsung quickly mentioned that the recent ISO certifications would increase its reputation and the company’s ability to verify microbial-related problems on its various products quickly.
