Sony Corporation, which is heavily invested in bringing in new technologies, and revolutionizing innovation, recently announced that the company would partake in a new project for drones; the new drone project will fall under AI robotics.

Not going into the details of the up-side of having drones, in general, it is worth pointing out that the recent surge that the tech companies and the silicon valley have seen in the manufacturing and usage of drones in various fields has contributed greatly to the delivery of previously unseen images.

Moreover, that is not all; drones have also contributed, by a large amount, to ensuring workflow efficiency and energy savings in the industrial sector. In this respect, Sony comes into the whole ‘drone-business’ to further contribute to the rich field of drones’ tasks.

The company has assigned the brand called Airpeak to reflect its aspirations and further solidify Sony’s involvement through its imaging and sensing technology and 3R technologies (Reality, Real-time, and Remote) in the drone area.

Airpeak is spearheading the task and will work to support video creators’ creativity to their heart’s extent. The task will also contribute to further developing the entertainment industry and improving efficiency and savings in various industries.

Airpeak’s other major task, besides the one mentioned above, would be to enable drone-use with the highest level of safety and reliability in the environments where the usage of drones had not flourished successfully before.

Sony will keep everyone up-to-date with the new project with Airpeak and receive feedback from drone users to build a concrete base for the project’s launch in the spring of 2021. Sony will also start looking for other partners for collaboration purposes very soon.
