The specter of Galactus is looming over the island in Fortnite for a while now; he had disappeared from the horizon for a while, but now, it seems he is coming right at the island. The players are especially keen on finding out when the Galactus event will go live in Epic’s hit battle royale.

Fortnite Season 5 is also almost on the verge of launching; before the new season’s official launch, the developers also launched the last patch of season 4, v14.60. The new update did not come with new sets of features, maps, or quests for the game, as is the case with any new updates; the new update added the Fortnite Galactus event files.

Now the countdown has started for the Galactus event. There was a lot of speculation going around for the same. In the latest tweet, a user with the user name ShiinaBR has revealed that the Galactus event will go live on December 1st, 9:10 pm GMT.

This also means that the launch of the new season will get delayed inevitably. Although there was no official announcement as to when the new season will drop, the ball-park timeframe had been such that it was scheduled to launch sometime in late November. That is unlikely to happen now.

There seems to be no need for speculation as to when the event will start as the game has already started the countdown.

As for what to expect from the next season: some think that, given the game’s history, the users could get a full map change for the new season.

This also seems probable because the challenges had the players visit every named location and notable landmarks on the map so far in the game. This could be an indication from Epic that a new map is coming.
