Samsung Bixby is upgraded with new features for a better user experience

Marking its launch in 2017, Samsung’s virtual assistant, Bixby, has undergone several changes and modifications and has expanded itself from being a mere assistant to a tool, enabling streamlined tasks easily over Samsung devices. 

Although Bixby is still struggling to pace up to its other contemporary assistants such as SIRI, ALEXA, or Cortana, one can’t completely deny that Bixby has succeeded in improving its usability and helping users get more work done with their Samsung devices. 

However, their feat seemed to have faced a lot of obstructions from the perspective of user experience. Therefore, this time, keeping its focus to fetch a better user experience, Samsung Bixby is about to bring a major remodification in both its external and internal features.

The earlier blue background is now going beyond its restrictions. The background now will modify itself depending on one’s phone’s display mode and changing the background simultaneously. Apart from these, it will be aided by various commands and executing user commands faster than the usual.

Some of the other changes included here are:

• Light and dark mode inability: The new Bixby will come with a light and a dark mode.
• All-in-one Menu: This will have a more unified structure, hosting various commands and marketplaces all under one menu, which can be accessed either through voice command or the Bixby capsule without undergoing the hassle of scrolling through and jumping from one menu to the other.
• Bixby with no interruptions: This feature enables easy switching to and from Bixby while watching a video or browsing through the web without much interruptions caused due to the switching for Bixby is now about to occupy only a third of the entire screen, without causing one to close the web site or the video.
• Customizable voice command suggestion: Enabled by voice command suggestions based on a user’s usage pattern and other devices registered to Bixby, it will help explore more options tailor-made for the user.

Currently, Bixby is available on Samsung DeX, and we hope that its increasing popularity might soon elevate it to the level of its other rival voice assistant technology.
