In a Reddit thread posted two months ago, many Xiaomi users have complained that their devices are facing screen touch problems. The problem, it seems, occurs on a small number of devices running on MIUI. Although it could be a software problem, it is not yet clear whether the problem is stemming from a particular version of MIUI. But as per the Reddit threat, the problem seems to be occurring on Xiaomi models, including the Mi 11, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 11 Lite, Mi 10T Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 9S. There is also the possibility that the root cause of the problem is the MIUI 12.5 version; however, the Mi 11 Lite which runs on MIUI 12.0.8 is also facing the same problem.

It is rather unfortunate that Mi 11 series too is facing the issue since most users hail the handset to be one of the best devices offered by the Chinese tech giant.

One user tried the factory resetting technique but to no avail.

Another user has commented that rebooting the smartphone solves the issue, albeit temporarily.

In some cases, the screen takes a long time to respond but it fixes itself on its own without much fuss. However, for the majority of Xiaomi smartphone users that is not the case.

As of now, the problem does not seem to be a rogue one, but rather it has affected a number of Xiaomi smartphones across the globe as is evident from the Reddit thread. A spokesperson for Xiaomi has assured everyone facing the problem that the company is aware of the display sensitivity problem, and that the developers are starting to roll out a fixed update for various devices which, hopefully, will solve the issue. The spokesperson did not mention what might be causing such issues in most Xiaomi smartphones.
