If we are to list the name of companies that are extending their expertise to invest and develop new technologies, the Chinese tech giant Oppo would be one of the frontrunners. Oppo’s one of the biggest competitors, Xiaomi, another smartphone tech giant, is looking to expand beyond being just a smartphone manufacturer. As such, the company has come up with various home solutions.

Assisted living is one of the hot topics in the world of technology, and various companies are looking for ways to make living smarter and, therefore, easier. Oppo has filed for a patent that may shock some people, but since the company is foraying into developing technologies that would make assisted living an all-encompassing concept, its new patent makes sense. Very recently, the Chinese smartphone giant Oppo Guangdong Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. was granted a patent for, what is described as “a method device, storage medium and terminal for assisting sleep.” The patent bears the publication number CN109432568B.

Apparently, the above-mentioned patent is concerned with assisted sleep which will be authorized to identify and improve insomnia problems. As per the patent abstract published by the company, a terminal associated with this technical solution will detect insomnia in a user. After the detection, it will automatically transfer ultrasonic waves similar to that of brain waves. This will help the user sleep while also ensuring that the user is not interacting with the terminal.

This method of interaction which the company claims, can improve, if not solve, the problem of insomnia, includes obtaining the physiological parameters of the user, judging if the user is experiencing an insomniac state according to the physiological parameter. When the terminal detects that the user is experiencing insomnia, it will send an ultrasonic signal which will guide the user to enter the sleep state.
