American multimedia instant messaging app, Snapchat is currently working on linking the friend’s list to the phone’s contacts book. The information was revealed in a Twitter post shared by Alessandra Palazzi on Friday, August 13th, 2021.

The app when completed will have the possibility to start a chat, a call, or a video call directly from the address book, just like what is contained in WhatsApp, Telegram, GoogleDuo, and other social media apps.

The Twitter post reads: “Once linked you will have the possibility to start a chat, a call or a video call directly from the address book, just like for #WhatsApp, #Telegram, #GoogleDuo, etc.”

Given the new development, a lot of users have been expressing their excitement over the proposed linking. Killian7578, a Twitter user expresses his excitement by replying to the post as: “Oh nice”

Snap Inc., formerly known as Snapchat Inc., is an American multimedia instant messaging software and service. One of the most prominent qualities of Snapchat is that photographs and messages are typically only viewable for a brief period before they are lost to their recipients.

Users’ “Stories” of 24 hours of chronological content, as well as “Discover,” which allows advertisers to offer ad-supported short-form content, have grown from the app’s original concentration on person-to-person photo sharing.

It also allows users to save photos in the “my eyes only” folder, which is password-protected. It also apparently uses end-to-end encryption to a limited extent, with hopes to expand its use in the future.
