At the AI Day Event 2021, on August 20, the famous automobile company Tesla introduced its self-developed humanoid robot. Tesla has named the humanoid – Tesla Bot. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a statement that the company has successfully developed and produced smart four-wheel electric vehicles. Not only that the company has also been improving its self-driving technique, thereby, but it is also only natural that Tesla would have the means and the appropriate conditions to develop a humanoid robot. Tesla has also announced a promotional video for this new robot.

The video of the robot reveals that the humanoid’s body is made of multiple pieces of white material. The fingertips and joints are made of grey silicon materials; however, the hand joints are very similar to that of humans. The robot’s shoulders, neck, and head are black in color. A hollow part is right above the shoulders, and Tesla has explained that this design is ideal for heat dissipation. These hollowed-out spaces will also house built-in speakers. There are several other gaps in the design of the body, including in the legs, torso, and arms, so that the robot could move easily. The end of the video shows us the robot walking very slowly.

The face of the Tesla Bot can display pictures, and the robot features as many as 40 electric drive devices. The robot’s whole body is rigged with multiple sensors made from lightweight materials. There is also a custom-built computer built into the torso.

Musk said that the robot will have a height of 1.72 meters and a weight of 56.6 kilograms. Although Tesla introduced the Tesla Bot on August 20, 2021, this does not mean that it will be available on the market immediately. The prototype Tesla Bot will be launched in 2022.
