There have been a few disputes between ByteDance and Tencent in the past two years. In February, Bytedance launched its official website of Bytedance Games with its brand name “Chaoxiguangnian,” and the English name is NVERSEGAME. This is only an indication that Bytedance is interested in integrating its gaming business and making it into one of the key projects handled by the company. Interestingly, Tencent has been working in the past to create cloud games; sources reveal these new games will be available soon in addition to the regular games.

Another company called Beijing Zitiao Network Technology Co., Ltd. also added a number of trademark applications for something called “Tik Ton Cloud Game”. Advertising sales, education, and entertainment, communication services, design research, scientific instruments, etc. will fall under this category. The trademarks still bear the sign “application for registration.”

The trademark for Douyin Cloud Game has changed. The new one comes equipped with a high-definition logo which consists of two colors: the classic red and blue neon. Moreover, it also comes with the added lighting element. A few sources have mentioned that this means Douyin Cloud games will be fast as well as have low latency.

Interestingly, ByteDance may have already built a prototype, and hopefully, the company will soon introduce the prototype to the market.

With all the work that is taking place on the development of 5G, gaming companies are working more and more on developing cloud games. With the advent of 5G technology, cloud gaming too is becoming the key project for most gaming companies. Tencent, Netease, Douyu, etc. have all launched corresponding products that can place high-load computing on cloud servers and reduce the device threshold for players. However, the cloud games in question can also be used to play 3A masterpieces on various mobile phones.
