Twitter, one of the world’s leading social media platforms, may just have begun testing bitcoin tipping options from all indications. This report follows after Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey has reiterated that bitcoin has a huge and undeniable part in the future of the company, suggesting that cryptocurrency will form a large part of several future products of the firm just as seen in the “Tip Jar” feature.

According to MacRumors, Twitter Inc.’s integration of Bitcoin into several products like the Tip Jar was already projected by CEO Jack Dorsey in July, and Twitter’s recent beta update, which provides support for content creators, all suggest that Twitter will soon begin a rollout.

From the most recent Twitter beta update, users will be made to undergo some sort of Bitcoin tutorial where they will be enlightened about the Bitcoin Lightning Network, and custodial and non-custodial Bitcoin wallets will be taught.

Taking to his Twitter page to post, Alessandro Palazzi with username @alex193a, shared a screenshot of how to get tips in bitcoin on Twitter. The instruction also read that a Strike account will be a requirement as that is what will be used to generate Bitcoin Lightning invoices which will, in turn, be connected to be able to accept bitcoin tips.

Attaching the screenshot, Alessandro Palazzi simply wrote;

“#Twitter is working on the ability to receive tips in #Bitcoin ????”

Recall that Twitter introduced Tip Jar back in May stating the number of services that can be added at the time. The services then included; Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, Bandcamp, and Patreon, and Twitter stressed that it “takes no cut.”

Speaking about the future of Twitter in July, Dorsey also explained how bitcoin is by far the best option to be the native currency of the internet, and how it will firm an integral part of the future of the company. He also expresses his point of view at the time that a single global currency for the internet will ensure that products such as Tip Jar and Super follows are achieved much faster and have the widest reach possible.
