Facebook-owned WhatsApp is constantly adding new features to make the popular chat app more interactive. Very recently, on Twitter, a user revealed that the app developers are currently working on adding the “M contacts except…” option for Last Seen, Profile Picture, and About.

The users now have the option of completely barring everyone from seeing their Last Seen, Profile Picture, and About. The “My contacts except…” option is available for sharing the 24-hour status on WhatsApp. If this feature comes for profile pictures, last seen and about, the users will be able to exclude certain contacts from accessing the above-mentioned features of the users. However, this feature will go both ways, in the sense that the user cannot access the same of the contacts they have excluded, exactly like how the users who have disabled their “Last Seen” cannot access the “Last Seen” of other contacts. This feature will come in future updates.

Moreover, the app is also planning to usher in major changes in its interface so that the users get the maximum out of the app, and to make the chat experience more interesting. This is their focus for this year. Apart from introducing the above-mentioned feature, previous leaks showed that the developers at WhatsApp were working on a new chat variant while also focusing on how the latest change made to the app will ideally stabilize the app further.

The developers were also exploring the option for the message reactions feature, which is very similar to that of the Instagram feature of reacting using various emojis. The leaks also suggested that the app is also working on a new design. The new version of the app is available to Android beta users, but when it passes the test, it will gradually be rolled out to all users across all platforms.
