Sony Introduces New Devices at the Japan Ceatec Expo 2021

Sony Group has decided to dive right into a wide range of business as was evident from the Japan Ceatec expo 2021 which started on October 20. Not only Sony, but other big Japanese tech companies, including Panasonic, is taking part in this expo.

Sony presented 22 videos that perfectly showcase the company’s image sensor technology, and it also explores the company’s recent initiatives, which include a tracking technology for sports games, a video drone for filmmakers, and sensors for autonomous driving.

Sony Vision-Selective vehicle

The company introduced its Vision-Selective vehicle as part of its introductory initiative. Sony mentioned that the vehicles come featured with 40 sensors inside and outside the car and a Safety Cocoon which is a 360-degree sensor. This only points to Sony’s commitment to ensuring optimum safety for its users.

Sony IMX500 Intelligence vision sensor

Apart from the vehicle, Sony also explained its preoccupation with the issues regarding data centers consuming an ever-growing amount of electricity. Sony’s answer to this problem is the IMX500 intelligence vision sensor, which reduces transmission latency and the volume of data sent to the cloud, ultimately reducing the overall power consumption.

Sony Airspeak S1

Although at the expo, Sony presented a number of devices that deserve accolades, everyone was eagerly waiting for the Airspeak S1, a camera-carrying drone equipped with the latest sensor technology. This drone can capture not only vivid images, but the drone itself features with flight stabilizers. The company has expressed its desire to control the maximum chunk of the global market for the image sensors used in devices ranging from smartphones to cameras.

Sony LSPX-S3 Crystal Sound Tube

Sony also announced the launch of the third-gen crystal sound tube LSPX-S3. It comes with a 46mm mid and low-frequency diaphragm. It is compact in size and designed in such a way that it can distribute sound evenly at a 360-degree angle. Moreover, it comes with a built-in reflector and high-brightness LED, and the liner sound source characteristics which are encased in the long glass tube lower the rate of sound distortion.

The Sony LSPX-S3 comes with DSEE and S-Master. DSEE works to provide a supplement for the high-frequency details lost in the sound compression process, and the S-Master technology improves the distortion phenomenon and re-optimizes the heat dissipation. The speaker can provide a service of up to 8 hours, and comes with an upgraded voice call function. Sony announced that the LSPX-S3 which will be available for pre-sale in the near future. Pricing is yet to be announced.
