Samsung India launched a new Scan QR feature as a payment option in India as a part to carry forward the idea of Cashless and Digital India. The steps in this option simply require the users to make the QR code payments by opening the camera or simply selecting the Scan QR code option from the Quick Panel. This feature is available on Samsung Pay compatible devices.

The Scan QR feature is currently live across the Galaxy Z series including Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note20 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, Galaxy M series, Galaxy A series, and Galaxy F series. However, this feature is being expanded to other Galaxy devices with FOTA as well. Samsung India has mentioned that in the future this feature will be rolled out to even more Samsung smartphones.

“At Samsung, our mission is to make everyday life easier for our users by providing unique and innovative experiences when they make payments through Samsung Galaxy devices. Since the launch of Samsung Pay, we have constantly innovated and added user-centric features such as UPI, Wallets, Gift Cards, Fastag recharge, and Bill Payments. We are excited to expand our footprint in digital payment by introducing a whole new experience for our users to make payments while using the camera and Quick Panel,” – Sanjay Razdan, Senior Director, Samsung India.

To make payments using the camera or the QR Scanner in Quick Panel, any user need to first ensure that their Samsung smartphone is running on the latest software update. If the smartphone is running on the latest software, the user needs to open the camera and scan the UPI QR and select the option to pay with either Samsung Pay or Samsung Pay Mini by entering the amount and the UPI PIN.
