OnePlus has filed for a trademark for autonomous cars and cycles. Scooters in India means that the smartphone giant will finally launch its auto segment in India. BBK Electronics, which is the parent company of OPPO, Vivo, Realme, and OnePlus is gearing up to venture into the electric vehicle space, which is turning out to be one of the most profit-mongering spaces. Well-established automobile companies that have already established an empire in the Indian market, such as Tata, Ather, Ola, MG, Hyundai, Honda, Audi, and others, will be in direct competition in the EV market.

One advantage that OnePlus has is that it is already a familiar name, not only in India but also in China, the UK, and the US. Some sources report that the company has been toying with the idea of venturing into the EV business for quite some time now. Interestingly, the company, back in 2019, had teased an electric supercar codenamed Warp Car on its website. However, since the company did not issue any statements regarding the electric vehicle, nor did they address the appearance of the vehicle on their websites, it was not taken seriously. Now that the company has filed a trademark for electric cars, it means that OnePlus is on the verge of launching its very first electric supercar in the Indian market.

The Warp Car, when it first made its appearance, was described as a supercar that could go from 0 to 60mph in just 3 seconds. Moreover, OnePlus also revealed that the car could get a range of 290 miles on a single charge: this also points to the fact that the electric supercar will also come with fast charging support. Other features include a Morandi Gray leather trim and carbon fiber accents across the cockpit.

The trademark application does not reveal much about the company’s plan or about the car. More details will be revealed in the future, hopefully.
