According to online reports, the American automaker Ford Motors is going to increase the production of one of its electric cars, called the Mach-E pure Electric Mustang. Previously, the Mustang received positive feedback from its users, and following the feedback, the company’s CEO has decided to increase the production of the said car to the current level. Ford Motors hopes to achieve this feat by 2023. This will also mark the first time that the company has set a particular set of goals for this car.
Ford Motors was quick to mention that, given the current scenario, it might be difficult for the automaker to increase the production capacity. However, that is not stopping the company. On the contrary, the company will try its best to reach the set goal. The production of the Mustang Mach-E will start increasing starting in 2022, and by 2023, the annual production in North America and Europe will reach 200,000 vehicles per year. This will account for more than three times the current annual production. Ford will make use of the production capacity in Mexico to meet the production of this car. Moreover, the production of other two Ford cars, namely the Ford Explorer and the Lincoln Aviator EV models, has been postponed by eighteen months.
Ford had predicted that the sales of the Mustang Mach-E cars in Europe and the US will reach 50,000 in 2021, and so far the company has been able to sell 40,393 cars.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is available in China at the starting price of 282,000 yuan after subsidies. The electric car is available in a rear-wheel-drive version, and a four-wheel-drive version, whichever is preferable. The car offers a cruising range of 492 to 619 kilometers. The car is also available in a GT version which provides an acceleration of up to 3.65 seconds from 100 kilometers.
