A leaked report earlier this morning has revealed that the Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi used the new Mi Sans font for the upcoming Xiaomi’s MIUI 13.

The upcoming Xiaomi’s MIUI 13 is expected to be unveiled by the Chinese mobile giant by the 28th of December, but a leak has revealed the new Mi Sans typeface that the firm will use in MIUI 13.

The smartphone giant has been updating its MIUI operating system for its smartphones on a regular basis and gearing up to release the new MIUI 13 based on the Android 12 operating system. The Mi Sans and Mi Prototype 210317 typefaces will be utilized in the new MIUI 13 operating system. These new fonts will take the place of Xiaomi’s current Mi Lan Pro VF font.

The leak, further exposed that the new fonts have more rounded words and smoother lines than the current font, giving it a more modern appearance. It’s also discovered that the font includes two special characters: the Xiaomi and MIUI logos.

It’s worth noting that the new Mi Sans font that Xiaomi will be using in MIUI 13 differs from the currently available ones. Since MIUI 11, the Mi Lan Pro VF typefaces have been in use, and with MIUI 12.5, the company has renamed the same font to Mi Sans in preparation for the forthcoming major shift.

As of now, little is known about what the business is upgrading in the future version of MIUI, but we may expect significant improvements in design and new functionality. Some existing functions, such as Screen On-Time and Weather Super Wallpaper, are also expected to be removed by Xiaomi.

Another report revealed that a list of the company’s devices that will be among the first to receive the new update has leaked online. Premium phones, including the Mi 11 Ultra, Redmi K40 Pro, and others, as well as the mid-range Mi 11 Youth Edition, are on the list.
