Recently the tech giant Sony launched a new 45W PD charger that comes with support for the USB PD fast-charging standard, and the PD version is 2.0. Moreover, the charger comes with a USB-C cable design.

The style of the fast charger is very similar to every common power adapter. The outer top shell of the charger has a black matte finish and it carries Sony’s trademark logo. As mentioned above, the charger supports the USD PD fast-charging standard, and the maximum output power that the charger offers is 45W. The new charger carries the product name UCH30C 1312-2017.1, and its model number is AC-0080-CN.

The outer shell of the charger comes with an output cable. The fact that the charger features a USB-C type connector makes the charger suitable for most mainstream digital products. The cable length of the charger is 1 meter.

An online source has pointed out, “The measured measurements are 66.77mm X 47.96mm X 33.2mm, calculated according to the maximum output power of 45W, the power density is 0.42W/cm³.” This charger’s maximum output power is 45W, but it also has common fast-charging protocols such as QC3.0, Samsung5V2A, and DCP.

Sony’s new 45W PD charger is mainly made for Android phones since its compatibility with Android phones is better than it is with Apple products. Moreover, the power adapter is also compatible with Android tablets and laptops as well.

The overall look of the charger is very similar to Sony’s old power adapter which also had a matte finish on its outer shell and featured a 1-meter USB-C cable. The USB tester reveals that its PD version which is 2.0 comes with three fixed voltage files of 5V3A, 9V3A, and 15V3A. The fast-charging voltage which is required for a normal handshake can be turned on.
