Apple has achieved new advances in automobile manufacturing, and even the supplier is on the verge of committing. The report revealed that Apple recently visited a number of auto parts suppliers in South Korea to negotiate the supply of auto parts, according to a report in the Korean media. The company plans to buy a partial interest in an electronic component manufacturer to meet Apple’s production capacity needs.

Apple’s auto-building strategy is clearly progressing, and there is also word that the company will unveil its self-developed car during a press conference this fall. This timeframe may be more reliable, according to the Apple-supplier collaboration process.

Recently, the American tech giant released the original film “Swan Elegy,” which depicts any point-to-point autonomous driving, automobiles without steering wheels, and in-car interactivity using AR glasses. I’m not sure if Apple did it on purpose or not, but it exposed their future travel plans ahead of time.

Meanwhile, Apple has aggressively deployed its self-developed semiconductors in recent years. One of its main suppliers, Foxconn, has built out its electric vehicle business, making Apple’s cars smarter and more electrified.

The Apple automobile prototype has essentially been formed, but much testing and verification are required before it can become a fully functional vehicle. It is expected that we will be able to see the genuine appearance of the Apple automobile in the near future.

Korean media IT News reported that Apple visited a number of electrical component makers in South Korea in December last year, in order to develop an automotive supply chain. In fact, Apple is planning two trips to South Korea in 2021 to meet with car suppliers.

The technology giant intends to finish the selection of vehicle suppliers this year and move into the comprehensive research and development stage.

After visiting numerous electrical component makers, Apple has expressed a strong interest in its existing mass manufacturing capability. Apple suggested an ownership investment in one of the electronic component manufacturers, which would allow the firm to treble its production capacity to fulfill Apple’s supply needs. However, it is unclear whether Apple’s offer has been accepted by the electronic components manufacturer.

Following face-to-face discussions with electronic component manufacturers, Apple will reach out to these companies via the internet.

According to a person in control of the parts industry, “Apple’s car-related business has remained a closely guarded secret. If the information is released to the public, Apple will remove this company from its list of suppliers, therefore everyone is taking it extremely seriously right now.”

Besides, certain electrical component makers that are already on Apple’s supplier list are forming specific groups to connect with the company’s automotive industry and work on Apple’s automobile initiatives.

Foxconn, as Apple’s largest foundry, is similarly bullish about Apple’s vehicle-making potential and has already started to deploy car-making platforms and automotive foundries. Foxconn’s layout, on the other hand, has been a little slow in comparison to Apple’s current car-building pace.

Foxconn unveiled its own car-making platform in 2021, as well as three prototypes, the Model C, Model E, and Model T, which are aimed at SUVs, sedans, and commercial buses, respectively.

Obviously, Foxconn is not targeting established auto companies or lesser-known new power firms because old car companies have their own factories, new power companies’ output is restricted, and their objective must be large consumers such as Apple.

According to Apple’s mass-production schedule, a partner will be found this year, and trial production will begin the next year. According to the layout rhythm of Foxconn’s electric vehicle factory, a US$10 billion investment to create a factory in the United States will begin operations in 2023, putting it right in the middle of Apple’s car-building time node.

According to prior sources, Magna is also one of the foundries that Apple is investigating. Perhaps we will soon be able to witness Apple’s car’s latest results.

The original film “Swan Elegy,” which depicted the future autonomous driving trip scene, was released so that the rest of the world could see Apple’s autonomous driving future. The future travel door that Apple is anticipating is gradually opening.
