The new external hard drive, which adds to the company’s range of PlayStation storage for gamers, provides the ultimate game vault for PS5 and PS4 storage as well as the option to play PS4 games directly from the drive.
According to Seagate’s official news, today, the technology company has released officially authorized external Game Drives and game hard drives with 2TB and 4TB capacity to expand the storage capacity of PS4 and PS5 game consoles.
The hard drive, according to Seagate, is specially created with firmware optimized for PS4 and PS5 game consoles, is extremely lightweight, and can be installed plug-and-play in less than two minutes without the use of any tools, allowing users to begin gaming right away.
Seagate’s PlayStation expansion device connects and powers through high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0), eliminating the need for a separate power cord, and allowing gamers to play anywhere, at any time.
The global electronic data storage technology and solutions have also teamed up with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Guerrilla Games to deliver Horizon West in anticipation of the new game drive and upcoming PS5 and PS4 games. Game Drive is a Limited Edition.
This officially licensed collector drive is inspired by the open world of Horizon: Forbidden West and incorporates artwork on the outside of the drive to underline the strength and mystery of the game’s protagonist, Aloy.
This hard drive comes in 2TB and 5TB capacities and is ideal for storing PS5 and PS4 game libraries. PS4 games can also be started directly from the hard disk.
The new Seagate gaming hard drives are expected to begin shipping next month for $92.49 (about 586.39 yuan) for 2TB and $139.99 (approximately 887.54 yuan) for 4TB. The number of people who can play “Horizon: Western Forbidden Region” is limited. The game hard drive’s suggested retail price is $99.99 for 2TB and $159.99 for 4TB.
