Xiaomi to Launch Redmi K50 Standard Edition in March 2022

Xiaomi had previously announced that the company would launch its new smartphone series of Redmi K50 in China on 16th February 2022. The upcoming lineup was thought to consist of four smartphones in total, namely the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi K50 Pro+, and the Redmi K50 Gaming edition.

On the evening of February 16th, Xiaomi’s Lu Weibing announced the launch of the first product from the lineup- the Redmi K50 e-sports version. The smartphone comes powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chip along with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 flash memory. Moreover, there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner at the side of the smartphone.

Xiaomi boasts of the AAC CyberEngine ultra-wideband X-axis motor for featuring for the first time on this smartphone. The Redmi K50 e-sports models will be available in three colors: Shadow, Silver Wing, and Ice Slash. Xiaomi also mentioned that the smartphone will also come in a Champion Edition co-branded model.

The pricing for the smartphone starts at 3299 yuan, and it will go on sale on February 18 at 10:00. Before the launch of the Redmi K50 Gaming edition took place, the company had already revealed the poster of the smartphone which revealed its design before the launch event took place. 

As of now, Xiaomi has launched a single smartphone from its new lineup, and the company is expected to release the rest of the models, that is the Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, and Redmi K50 Pro+. In the comments section, Xiaomi’s Wang Teng has revealed that Xiaomi is also planning to launch the Redmi K50 Standard Edition sometime in March. 

The Redmi K50 series will come in three different chip settings: Snapdragon 870, Dimensity 8000, and Dimensity 9000. The Redmi K50 will likely run on the Snapdragon chipset, whereas the Redmi K50 Pro and the Redmi K50 Pro+ are likely to feature Dimensity 8000, and Dimesnity 9000 respectively. No suggestion.
