According to reports, Android-based smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is working on a new foldable phone. Apart from being foldable, the device will come with a pop-up selfie camera to support a complete screen experience on the basic display.

The information leak comes from a patent from Xiaomi leaked by a whistleblower on Twitter. From the pictures displayed in the tweet, the bear two display panels of different sizes. • Reviving the Pop-Up Selfie Camera

Additionally, the new foldable Xiaomi tablet indicates no notch for the selfie camera or any sign of a sensor below the screen. Instead, it’s apparent that Xiaomi is planning to recall the selfie pop-up trend; however, in this case, with a foldable mobile phone.

From the silhouette of the leaked image, we can find two cutouts, implying a likely dual front camera setting. Further expectations reveal that the pop-up selfie camera of the upcoming foldable phone from Xiaomi would most likely be motorized.

Although the pictures reveal little about the upcoming device, the tweet also revealed another change in the expected model. Evidently, the new foldable Xiaomi Android smartphone will host bigger batteries that will last longer than the earlier reported model.

By implication, it might be safe to infer that the smartphone manufacturer is currently working on the expected device, rather than sharing details on a completed product. We expect more information on the upcoming device specifications in the coming days.
