Today, Apple TV+ has officially released the first full trailer of the long-anticipated Shining Girls drama, starring Emmy Award-winning actress, Elisabeth Moss.

The first three episodes of the metaphysical thriller will premiere worldwide on Friday, April 29, 2022, followed by one new episode every Friday thereafter.

The series is produced by MRC Television and executive produced by Appian Way. Showrunner Silka Luisa adapted the story for television, and Emmy Award winner Michelle MacLaren directed the first two episodes.

The film “Shining Girls,” based on Lauren Beukes’ bestseller novel, follows Kirby Mizrachi (Moss), a Chicago newspaper archivist whose journalistic dreams were put on hold following a brutal assault.

When Kirby discovers that a new murder resembles her own, she teams up with veteran but disturbed reporter Dan Velazquez (Wagner Moura) to track out her assailant.

Their own personal traumas and Kirby’s hazy reality allow her assailant to stay one step ahead as they understand these cold cases are intrinsically linked.

The compelling thriller also stars Phillipa Soo, Amy Brenneman, and Jamie Bell, in addition to Moss and Moura.

Luisa, who also serves as showrunner, executive produces and produces Shining Girls for television. Moss, together with Lindsey McManus, stars in, directs, and executive produces the film under Love and Squalor Pictures.

Through Appian Way, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, and Michael Hampton serve as executive producers.

For MacLaren Entertainment, MacLaren directs and co-produces alongside Rebecca Hobbs. Daina Reid is the director and executive producer of the film. Executive producers are author Beukes and Alan Page Arriaga.

Apple TV+ is the first original streaming service to launch around the world on November 1, 2019, and it has aired more original hits and garnered more award recognitions than any other streaming service in its first year.

It offers premium, compelling drama and comedy series, featuring films, innovative documentaries, and kids and family entertainment. Apple Original films, documentaries, and series have received over 200 awards and 900 nominations since their inception.
