Today marks another milestone in the technology industry as the Chinese smartphone giant, Vivo officially unveiled a new smartphone lineup in India with a new series of flagship devices – the Vivo X80 series.

The premium smartphone series comes in two versions Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro. The duo smartphones were released in China a month ago and are now featuring in the Indian market. These new smartphones will compete with the Realme GT2 Pro, iQoo 9 Pro, the OnePlus 10 Pro, and even the Samsung Galaxy S22 series.

Vivo X80 Specifications 

The Vivo X80 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset and features a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1800×2400 pixels. The smartphone has a maximum RAM of 12GB and three storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

The new device runs Android 12 with a layer of customization from the manufacturer. A 50MP main camera with the first Sony IMX866 RGBW sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle, and a 12MP 50mm 2X portrait camera make up the smartphone’s triple rear camera. For selfie enthusiasts, there’s a 32MP front camera.

To ensure maximum security protection, the device comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.

Vivo X80 Pro Specifications

The Vivo X80 Pro has a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×3200 pixels and features a refresh rate of 120Hz. The smartphone runs the Android 12 operating system with a layer of OriginOS added by the business. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU powered the device. 

The Vivo X80 Pro has a quad-camera setup with Zeiss optics on the back. A 50MP main camera with the first Samsung GNV sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle, a 12MP 50mm 2X portrait, and an 8MP 5X periscope telephoto camera make up the smartphone camera. A 32 MP selfie camera is located on the front. The Vivo X80 Pro also includes Vivo’s own V1+ proprietary chip, which promises to deliver better and brighter photographs in low-light situations.

Additionally, the smartphone has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor as well as an IP68 rating, making it dust and water-resistant. A 4700mAh battery powers the phone, with compatibility for 80W fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 10W wireless reverse charging. 

The Vivo X80 Pro combined up to 12GB of RAM and is available in two storage capacities: 256GB and 512GB.

Pricing

The Vivo X80 Pro is priced at Rs 79,999 for the base variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Vivo X80, which is the series’ base model, starts at Rs 54,999 in India. This is for a system with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Rs 59,999 will get you the 12GB + 256GB variant.

Both smartphones will be available for purchase on Flipkart beginning May 25. The handsets will also be available through the Vivo India e-store and all partner retail shops. Those who pre-book any of the devices will receive an instant Rs 7,000 discount on their HDFC bank cards.
