Volkswagen Teams Up With “obi-wan Kenobi” for the Launch of the New All-electric ID. Buzz

People’s favorite dejected Jedi recluse is eventually landing in Disney+ with the premiere of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” later this month. Volkswagen enhanced its brand value through various concepts, keeping the momentum for its global e-strategy.

The carmaker launches sales activities for its iconic van, the ID. Buzz01, with a stand-out collaboration with “Obi-Wan Kenobi”; the most anticipated limited Star Wars Series.

The collaboration with Star Wars mini-series launches a customized advert made in partnership with Lucasfilm and Industrial Light & Magic featuring the ID. Some great characters are featured in the series, and a leading actor like Ewan McGregor, who will also debut as a brand ambassador for Volkswagen for the collaboration with the “Obi-Wan Kenobi.”

The expectation for the Star War mini-series “Obi-Wan Kenobi” is earth-shattering as fans across the globe wait for the return of the Jedi master. At the same time, the same await and expectations go for Volkswagen enthusiasts for this iconic van ID with the launch of the long-awaited electric model Buzz. 

By joining forces we will have the opportunity to engage new target groups in regards to e-mobility, innovation, and digitalization. In this respect we are thrilled to work together with some of the best creative teams in the movie industry, – Zellmer said.

Volkswagen also planned to go through an unrivaled 360 campaign to attract the global audience, worked on by Scholz & Friends and Markenfilm. The promotion will run across various markets, and the audience will see the developed content across all the digital platforms. The company is also venturing, bewitching billboards and social media advertising.

The advertising is far from looking back; it will also expand the business to exciting design collaboration. Designers from Volkswagen and Lucasfilm have jointly created two “Star Wars Edition” IDs Buzz, which will be revelated at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, the world’s largest event of its kind, by the end of May.
