According to sources, Sony, the owner of Playstations, is planning to release half or 50% of PC and mobile games by 2025, and they may have already begun working on it. In the coming years, additional PlayStation titles would be released.

Jim Ryan, the head of Sony Entertainment, said today’s Sony corporate presentation that publishing more games and achieving great things in the next years might be truly revolutionary to the industry.  According to reports, the business plans to produce at least a few currently reside games in the near future. Furthermore, the corporation looked into its PC and mobile platforms’ progress and utilized figures to look back on previous launches and forecast future ones.

Source report: Sony aims to release half or 50% of its PC and mobile games by 2025

Sony has indeed been making inroads into the PC market, and by 2025, it expects to have 30 percent of its titles on that platform, with 20 percent on mobile. This coincides with Sony’s announcement that PS4 videogames would be phased out at the end of the year.

In its latest financial report, Sony accused the shortage of PS5 sales of its failure to produce sufficient systems owing to continuous distribution network bottlenecks. “We have the chance to be present pretty much everywhere by extending to PC and mobile, and it must be mentioned also to live services,” Ryan stated. Aiming to the revenue point, he went on to say that if Sony does things well, more people would automatically like the video games, implying that the corporation will generate more revenue. However, it might significantly impact Sony’s strategy in the subsequent years.

According to the VGC report, Nixxes Software, better remembered for its expertise on the PC editions of Square Enix trademarks such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman, and Thief, was recently bought by PlayStation to assist the game development. The firm hasn’t done much more with mobile gaming, so it’ll be intriguing to see what fresh plans developers have in the works.
