In a bid to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Golf R, the German automobile giant, Volkswagen has officially announced the unveiling of a new Golf R “20 Years” car. The new vehicle is seen as the most powerful Golf ever, with an exclusive special-edition model.
According to the automobile giant, the new Golf R, “20 Year’s” vehicle is now available for order with a starting price of $59,995 in Germany.
With its drive technology, the new vehicle outperforms anything that has previously been released under the “Golf” models. The anniversary car speeds from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in under 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour.
Once the engine starts, the Golf R “20 Years” car reveals its remarkable nature. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine’s output of 245 kW / 333 PS is tough to ignore. An Emotion Start allows the driver to activate an initial engine speed overrun of up to 2,500 rpm. This, combined with particularly stunning drive acoustics, adds to the excitement of a classic R driving experience.
The Golf R “20 Years” comes with a standard R Performance package recognized from the Golf R, as well as special design features. The roof spoiler at the back emphasizes the vehicle’s dynamic appearance, which comes with standard 19-inch Estoril alloy wheels.
The dynamic and unique nature of Volkswagen’s premium performance brand is reflected in the cabin. The dash panel and door trim use Genuine Carbon ornamental trim elements for the first time in a production Volkswagen.
The vehicle key cap also features the blue R emblem to emphasize that the key belongs to a unique vehicle. The blue R insignia can be found all over the special-edition vehicle, notably on the multifunction sports steering wheel.
