Earlier this year, at the CES 2022, the Chinese multinational technology company, Lenovo, announced the new Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 and ThinkPad Z16 laptop models. The new laptops are part of Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z-Series and come with the latest AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 series processors.
Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z series is an entirely new range of products, rather than an evolution of prior designs. The design of the new Z series laptops is one of their most notable qualities, especially when compared to Lenovo’s regular business computers. They are of different colors with a black leather lid and copper accents around the sides, creating quality yet elegant appeal.
Back then, the official configuration and specifications of the ThinkPad Z13 series were revealed, while that of the ThinkPad Z16 were not. However, as we just discovered from Lenovo’s overseas official website the detailed configuration of the new ThinkPad Z16 has been listed, indicating that this laptop will be officially rolled out soon.
The listing uncovered that the ThinkPad Z16 will employ an all-AMD system, with CPUs ranging from the R5 PRO 6650H to the R7 PRO 6850 H and the R9 PRO 6950H. The graphics card of the laptop includes Radeon 680M core graphics as an option, as well as AMD Radeon RX 6500M 4GB independent graphics. Optional Memory: 16GB – 32GB LPDDR5-6400 memory, SSD supports PCIe 4.0.
In addition, the laptop will be offered in 16-inch 1920×1200 and 3840×2400 resolutions, with the latter being an OLED screen with a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. In terms of interfaces, the Z- series 16 will have two USB4 ports, an SD card reader, and a full-featured USB-C interface, and measures 354.4 x 237.4 x 15.8 mm and weighs 1.81 kg.
As per the earlier reports, the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 was originally planned to be unveiled in May this year at a starting price of $2,099 but was not, due to some confidential information which was not revealed to the public.
