Following the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Bungie put out a statement assuring more support for staff. Bungie, the creator of Destiny 2, has promised to reimburse the travel costs of workers seeking healthcare that is not accessible where they reside in the aftermath of the US Supreme Court judgment overturning the historic abortion decision Roe v. Wade.

In a follow-up to the matter, Bungie stated, “The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade cuts off millions of Americans from such access and leaves up the potential of even harsher limits on life-saving healthcare for all of us. We are still steadfast in our resolve to defend the right to reproductive freedom and choice.” In order to reiterate this commitment, Bungie said that employees’ reproductive rights and health will be safeguarded wherever feasible.

Bungie supporting reimbursement for employees’ healthcare expenses

Bungie is dedicated to making sure that all of its staff members and their families have safe, affordable access to the healthcare they require. The company will now be establishing a travel expense scheme for any employee to utilize when they or a dependant cannot receive access to the healthcare they require where they reside as they seek to expand their digital-first workplace to other regions.

Although the creator of Destiny 2 has consistently expressed their opinions on political matters, other companies are doing so for the first time, and some are pledging to provide staff financial assistance. As the country’s political institutions fall short of the occasion or continue to be dominated by minorities, more and more American employees are posing these questions to their employers.

Bungie’s financial assistance to staff members and their families stands out among game makers’ responses to the court’s ruling, although several firms have made it plain what they believe. Ubisoft, Sony, Niantic, FireHose, and other firms, both in and out of the gaming industry, have apparently also committed to covering healthcare travel expenditures in a similar way.
