In Japan, Nintendo has started a Nintendo Switch repair subscription service that offers up to six services annually. Switch users will have the option to bring their device to Nintendo for repair if something goes wrong. It is emphasized as a simple method of prolonging access to the authorized repairs over the duration of the limited warranty.

All Switch models are supported by the new service, which is exclusively available in Japan and costs around 200 Yen ($1.5) per month or 2000 Yen ($15) yearly. However, if the repair cost surpasses 100,000 Yen ($740), the user will be responsible for the extra expenses. Users may also send it out for free repair if the console is unintentionally broken or becomes water damaged. Additionally, Nintendo will pay for delivery.

Nintendo Switch users are constantly having trouble with Joy-Con drift, and with this new service, Nintendo will have a solution to hardware issues. So many cases are currently underway against the firm over Drift, and it was just made public that two out of every five Joy-Cons have the problem. Owners of Switches should be able to send their Joy-Cons to Nintendo for maintenance or replacement through Wild Care.

Nintendo had previously promised a free repair service for this particular problem, but it has since come to light that the repair facilities were so overworked that mistakes have been made when the controllers were supposed to be replaced. Considering that Nintendo offers up to six repairs annually, including accidental damage and water damage, $15 seems like a good deal.

According to the Nintendo website, customers will receive a repair mailbox to submit their necessary components, and repairs will be completed and returned within two to three weeks. However, Nintendo hasn’t confirmed yet if Wild Care would be made accessible to Switch users only in Japan or if it will be available globally. If it becomes a global service, it may be advantageous to both the organization and the consumers.
