Over the years, the South Korean tech giant Samsung has branded its name in the mobile industry. In keeping this up, the brand is set to expand and unveil a new smartphone lineup with a new mid-range – the 5G variant of the Galaxy A23. Back in March this year, the tech giant unveiled the 4G version of the Galaxy A23 powered by the Snapdragon 680 processor, and now the firm is set to unveil the 5G variant of the device.

Previously, the 5G variant of the Galaxy A23 had been spotted at the Geekbench benchmarking site revealing some expected specifications. The site revealed that the 5G version carried a model number SM-A236U and was powered by the Snapdragon 695 chipset, which will run on One UI 4.0 based on Android 12.

However, as we just discovered in a Twitter post from the popular, reliable leaker, the upcoming smartphone has received the Indonesian Telecom certification, denoting the imminent launch date. Although the mobile brand is yet to confirm the official launch date given the earlier and recent certification, it seems to be near. Let’s take a look at some of the specs of the 5G variant of the Galaxy A23.

Specs

The Samsung Galaxy A23 has a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD screen with an Infinity-V notch and a refresh rate of 60Hz. Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is layered on top of the screen. The smartphone has a fingerprint scanner on the side and a rectangular camera module on the back.

The device has four rear cameras, including a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro unit. There is an 8MP selfie camera on the front. While the mobile company has not confirmed the processor, a Geekbench listing suggests that the Galaxy A23 could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset.

Additionally, the device has up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. The smartphone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. The Samsung Galaxy A23 ships with OneUI 4.1, which is based on Android 12.
