In a bid to bring cloud gaming handheld to the market, the global leader in PC and console gaming gear, Logitech G and Tencent Games has today announced a strategic partnership.
The partnership between Logitech G and Tencent Games will be releasing a cloud gaming handheld later this year that combines Logitech G’s hardware knowledge with Tencent Games’ software services expertise.
To enable players to play AAA games when they are away from their console or PC, the new gadget will support a variety of cloud gaming services. To this end, both businesses are collaborating with the Xbox Cloud Gaming and NVIDIA GeForce NOW teams.
Meanwhile, to fulfill the exciting promise of gaming from the cloud, the duo firms are dedicated to ensuring that the quality of experience comes together smoothly. Data center servers are used in cloud gaming to deliver video games to users. Games on PCs or consoles don’t need to be downloaded or installed. Instead, players engage with games locally on mobile devices while they are being rendered and played on distant servers.
Speaking on the partnership, Daniel Wu, general manager of Tencent Games Smart Solution Innovation Lab, said because of their dominance in PC and console gaming hardware, Logitech G is the perfect partner to help them fulfill their goal of providing gamers with a better gaming experience worldwide.
In his words: “Logitech G’s leadership in PC and console gaming gear make them an ideal partner to help us realize the vision of bringing a better gaming experience to gamers around the globe,” He added, “Today marks the start of a new opportunity for our companies to further push the frontiers of gaming devices.”
On the other hand, Ujesh Desai, general manager of Logitech G maintains that Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation as one of the top global platforms for game creation, publishing, and operations, and that is why they are partnering with them
“As one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing and operations, Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation and it’s why we partnered with them,” said Ujesh Desai, “As someone that grew up playing video games, the idea of being able to stream and play AAA games almost anywhere is super exciting, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”
