The British multinational automobile manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover again recognized LG Innotek as its qualified supplier for the second consecutive year. The Korean global materials and components company disclosed this today through its affiliate, LG Group.

According to the company, it has been named as Jaguar Land Rover qualified supplier for the second time after satisfying the automobile firm quality certification.

In its words: “Jaguar Land Rover evaluates the quality and delivery compliance of the component that its partner companies supply to the company and selects the partners that have shown excellence to award them the certification.”

Meanwhile, LG Innotek further pointed out that receiving the certification twice in succession is significant since, even after receiving it once, a business can quickly lose it if they don’t keep their product’s quality high.

“The certification that LG Innotek received this time has a significant meaning in that the company’s quality system has been recognized by a global premium car manufacturer. Automotive components are subjected to thorough quality controls as they have a direct impact on the lives of drivers and traveler as well as pedestrians. Especially, as Jaguar Land Rover produces premium automobiles, its quality criteria are known to be very rigorous and thorough.”

Since 2017, LG Innotek has provided the automaker with DC-DC converters. The part is utilized to transform the battery’s high-voltage direct current into a low-voltage direct current that is acceptable for a car’s internal components. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) variants of Jaguar Land Rover’s premium models, including the Range Rover and the Range Rover Sport, are equipped with DC-DC converters.

Speaking on the success, Yoo Byaeng-Kuk, the head of the Automotive Components & Electronics Business Unit of LG Innotek, said having achieved certification for the second year in a row, the company will keep working to keep the automotive component sector as one of its primary operations.

“The company will make efforts to innovate customer experience in the field of next-generation automotive components by leveraging its top-notch quality control system and cutting-edge technologies in-vehicle sensors, cameras, communication modules, etc.,” He added.
