In a bid to manage information security risks and protection data, the Finnish multinational telecommunications company Nokia is pleased to announce today that its iSIM Secure Connect solution has been accredited by the GSMA, the telecom industry group and leading wireless industry representative body.

The development comes to support additional certifications by other external standards, such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001, System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2, and Cloud Security Alliance, GSMA’s Security Accreditation Scheme (SAS) verifies the quality and capabilities of security and privacy policies, procedures, and controls.

GSMA’s SAS in Nokia’s SaaS Services

Nokia will now pursue those extra certifications for its other SaaS services later this year and until 2023 now that it has the GSMA accreditation. Reaching this key milestone gives operators and businesses a high level of confidence in adopting Nokia is Secure Connect in a SaaS delivery model because GSMA’s SAS is often required as the requisite security grade by CSPs globally.

Through a SaaS delivery approach, iSIM, or integrated SIM, Secure Connect, handles subscriptions for consumer and machine-to-machine devices for embedded SIM, or eSIM- and iSIM-enabled devices. With the help of iSIM Secure Connect, CSPs and businesses can swiftly enroll and manage connected devices at scale, automate the entire eSIM/iSIM profile lifecycle management process, and monetize services tied to trustworthy digital identities.

Nokia’s SaaS services

iSIM Secure Connect, NetGuard Cybersecurity Dome, Nokia Home Device Management, and Nokia AVA NWDAF, which improves network operations with AI/ML-driven closed-loop automation, are just a few of the seven SaaS services that Nokia has released since November 2021.

Corporation’s Reaction

Speaking on the achievement, Mark Bunn, Senior Vice President, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, said the GSMA certification confirms the courage and convincingness of Nokia’s SaaS information security management system.

In his words: “Achieving the GSMA certification validates the strength and effectiveness of Nokia’s SaaS information security management system (ISMS) and how we are providing the highest security standards and+ flexibility that meet or exceed the needs and expectations of our customers in all of our SaaS services. Hitting this milestone underscores the progress we are making to greatly improve the time-to-value that CSPs and enterprises can realize by having on-demand access to our SaaS services.”
