As of now, the first stage of factory carbon has been officially inaugurated. The semiconductor industry has been encountering difficulties while balancing the gases in the atmosphere as the process is more complex and diverse. It is knotty to manage the carbon emission data of each process linked only by manual and traditional forms. Winbond and many tech firms face many difficulties when investing in carbon reduction. To meet the most acceptable carbon reduction goals, Winbond teamed up with Microsoft and shuosoft to create cloud technology and Microsoft Power Platform to demonstrate automated data collection.

Carbon Emission Information Platform

The carbon emissions information platform will be systematized in four stages, namely factory emissions calculation, supply chain emissions calculation, net-zero path and carbon reduction planning, and implementation of supply chain emissions management. The four-stage process is likely to be completed by the end of 2023. It could increase the efficiency of employee collaboration by 90% to save data and time and reach sustainable business goals through extensive data analysis.

Chen Priming, general manager of Winbond Electronics, said that through “the carbon emission information platform jointly created by Taiwan Microsoft and Shuosoft, the integration of big data would help Winbond to solve the pain points encountered by most enterprises in carbon reduction transformation.
