At the MediaTek Overseas Summit held today in the United States, MediaTek’s CEO, Cai Lixing, highlighted four major areas the company tends to focus on in its development priorities and prospects. The summit also featured MediaTek’s technology leadership achievement, value creation, and execution, as well as the announcement of the new Kompanio chipsets for Chromebook.
MediaTek’s Four Future Focus Areas
The four areas Cai Lixing addressed in his speech were the development of each product line and technology, maintaining a broad product portfolio’s structural and balanced growth, the future organization of the three main income streams, and innovative R&D investment as the driving power. Using a combination of technologies, grasping the growth momentum of many, and a layout for new horizons.
First of all, the development of new technologies and the expansion of different product lines keep pace with the structurally sound and well-distributed growth of the broad product portfolio. To take advantage of market prospects, Cai Lixing stressed that MediaTek continues to adopt an aggressive and major attack posture in 2019. MediaTek led the globe in the launch of 5G processors in 2019.

Among them, in the mobile phone industry: maintain their leadership in the mobile SOC market share, continue to grow the market share in the flagship market, and introduce the new Dimensity 9200 solution. Third, Cai Lixing noted that MediaTek continues to work hard in the three areas of high performance, high energy efficiency, and high connection speed and promotes the newest standards and functions. By 2022, it is anticipated that 4 billion US dollars will have been invested in advanced research and development, and 14 billion US dollars will have been invested overall over the previous five years.

Announcing the Kompanio Chipsets for Chromebook
During the summit, the chip maker also announced its new Kompanio chipsets for entry-level Chromebooks that will provide a faster and more reliable computing experience so consumers can browse, cloud game, stream and use Google Play apps while enjoying all-day battery life.
The Kompanio 520 and Kompanio 528 chipset-based Chromebooks will be marketed by the first half of 2023. Both Kompanio chipsets provide more than double the resolution of the previous generation chipsets by supporting a Full HD+ display and allowing users to add a Full HD external display.
According to the paper, users can utilize dual displays to increase productivity at work, connect to a smart TV to watch movies, or even use a projector in educational settings. Device manufacturers can now construct Chromebooks with huge 32 MP cameras for taking incredibly detailed images, thanks to the new Kompanio chipsets. The chipsets can record Full HD video at 60 frames per second for fluid video conferences.
Speaking on the new entry-level Chromebooks, Adam King, the Vice President and General Manager of the Client Computing Business Unit at MediaTek, said user experience is built on improved battery efficiency, quick performance, and dependable connection.
