Over the years, DJI has been known for its leading role in the manufacture of commercial unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for aerial photography and videography. However, as we just discovered today, it seems the Chinese firm will be under threat as a new company that manufactures intelligent drones has been established to hinder its monopoly in the drone market.

Sunwoda, the world leader in the field of lithium-ion batteries, is reported to have established a new company to manufacture intelligent drones. The said company is also expected to manufacture electronic and electromechanical components, artificial intelligence hardware sales, intelligent robot research and development, and wearable intelligent equipment.

According to information from Qichacha, Suboda (Shandong) Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. was officially established. At present, the registered capital of the company is 10 million yuan, and the legal representative is Zhang Jianhua, who also serves as the executive director of the company. 

Business data reveals that Superda (Shandong) Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd.’s business range includes the production of intelligent basic equipment, the manufacture of electronic and electromechanical component equipment, the sale of hardware utilizing artificial intelligence, the development and research of intelligent robots, the production of wearable intelligent equipment, and the production of intelligent unmanned aerial vehicles, manufacturing of aircraft, etc.

Meanwhile, according to the information that is currently accessible as reported by CNMO, Xinwang Da Electronics Co., Ltd., whose shareholding ratio can reach up to 50.9996%, is the largest stakeholder in Suboda (Shenzhen) Automation Co., Ltd., which owns 100% of Suboda Intelligent Equipment.

Among the top 500 worldwide new energy firms, Sunwoda is a leader in the lithium-ion battery industry. Its business segments include 3C consumer batteries, intelligent manufacturing, industrial Internet, smart electric vehicle batteries, and energy technology, and they work closely with other technology firms. For instance, Volkswagen of Germany has named Sunwoda as the exclusive supplier of power battery packs.
