GTA Online RP servers are not allowed to sell NFTs or loot boxes

Rockstar Games has finally spoken out about the immensely popular GTA RP servers, and while it mainly sounds positive for fans, there are some small points to be aware of.

In order to make clear where it stands on GTA RP servers, Rockstar Games has amended its regulations. Despite the fact that the firm permits such servers to operate in Grand Theft Auto Online, it places restrictions on the type of activities they may indulge in and its business model.

According to a recent statement on its support page, Rockstar will prohibit GTA Online RP servers or players from being involved in any kind of commercial exploitation, such as the selling of real money and GTA cash, loot boxes, cryptocurrency, and NFTs.

Moreover, the company also restricts any GTA RP server from importing or abusing any of its games, trademarks, or any other real-world names, personalities, or music. No new games, storylines, quests, or maps may be offered via GTA Online RP servers, and they are not permitted to block Rockstar’s official multiplayer or online services.

GTA RP servers are simply modified ones that allow users to access GTA Online in ways that aren’t permitted by the game itself. The majority of players won’t notice much of a difference in these new GTA Online RP restrictions, but certain server owners won’t be able to profit from RP servers.

Fans may now feel relieved since Rockstar has stated in an official statement that it wishes for these servers to remain operational for the foreseeable future.
