Recently, reports have revealed that HTC plans to sell its VR business. Now, the Chairman of Taiwanese tech, Wang Xuehong, has responded to the rumors for the first time, saying, “it is false.”  According to her, the company’s VR business will start to harvest next year, and she hopes that all seven business divisions will be profitable.

Today around noon, Wang Xuehong and VIA Chairman Chen Wenqi enjoyed themselves with VIA staff while attending the charity sale for the Christmas market. She responded during the interview to the rumor that HTC might sell the VR business by making the aforementioned claim.

Wang Xuehong said that HTC would have many new VR products, which can be expected; it is currently divided into 7 business groups, and they are getting better and better. The upcoming year is predicted to be one of harvest, and I hope that each of the seven business sectors will be profitable.

According to Wang Xuehong, HTC has been developing the Metaverse market since 2014. Fortunately, the US-China technological rivalry has little impact on it. She lacks confidence in the metaverse industry’s ability to continue growing because of its broad uses.

Regarding the blockchain mobile phone, Wang Xuehong claimed that the technology is excellent and has a wide range of potential applications, including those in the fields of art and intellectual property, IP. There is no commentary on virtual currency.

Wang Xuehong thanked the staff for their assistance and the government’s efforts to navigate this challenging pandemic stage. After the outbreak is finished the next year, she thinks that everyone will be secure and healthy and that the economy and technology will grow.

Wang Xuehong, on the other hand, said that the Chinese market is quite huge and that it will be advantageous if there is effective management and communication.
