The time has come to bid farewell to 2022; many companies have started listing their sales reports before welcoming the new year. Recently, Toyota Motor undisclosed that in 2022, the company sold nearly 9.56 million vehicles worldwide, which passes the battle of disposable statistics from 2021.

The new sales report brings everything together to outstrip Volkswagen Group to bloom to the world’s top-selling automaker for the third consecutive year. Albeit the mass production of vehicles has become a question mark in recent days due to the semiconductor shortage, Toyota doesn’t affect by a lot and faced chaos with an unrecognizable attire.

This shows that Volkswagen needs to secure more than triple its December sales to surpass Toyota, which seems to be an impossible mission to lure the dragon out of its cage.

Toyota’s potential to pull off a massive feat in sales this year results from unaccountable support from the Chinese market. In the Chinese market, Toyota’s sales in the first November upsurged by 2% year-on-year.

On the opposite side, Volkswagen Group performed poorly in Asia, with sales in China down 6 percent and deals in the rest of the Asia-Pacific rising to 6 percent. In addition, Volkswagen gained a step in EV Sales, with a report of selling 360,000 EVs in the first three quarters of 2022, 25% year-on-year, juxtaposed with Toyota’s sales of somewhere 20,000 EVs in the same period.
