The American multi-tech firm Microsoft has not observed the humus in the ground since it dropped Windows Phone in 2019. Since then, it hasn’t developed a mobile OS. Albeit, the windows mobile version didn’t go well in the market, the Redmond company has no interest in recapitulating the bygone OS over the longevous Microsoft Windows OS.
Microsoft invested its energy to build a territory on Android. Later, it discovered Surface Duo to get into the world of Android OEM, and the company even built an Android division. The new division is about to emerge from a shell, and the new department, “Android, Microsoft Platforms, and Experiences,” stands under the Windows head, Panos Panay.
The mobile division of the Microsoft platform consists of the Surface Duo OS team and other architects working on Android services. It seems the Android division is planning to roll out a new mobile store on Android in collaboration with the Xbox team.
It seems Microsoft got off from the past onus to fill up the inventory with some good reminiscences. Perhaps the new Microsoft mobile app store could compete against Google and Android. The first Microsoft mobile app store will cater to gamers; the platform will also host Android apps developed by the company, such as To Do and Launcher.
In a recent interview, Microsoft’s Xbox head Phil Spencer said the company wants to create a store to rival Google’s App Store, but initially, it will focus on games.
