Today, Microsoft added a new option to Microsoft Edge Canary that allows users to disable the browser’s Bing symbol. The Bing icon was introduced by the firm in Microsoft Edge 111, and the manner it was executed has drawn criticism. The feature’s official name is Discover.

The button cannot presently be deleted from Edge Dev, Beta, or Stable Channels. Nevertheless, this won’t last forever as the software behemoth is presently testing with Canary Channel users the ability to remove the new Bing button from the Edge toolbar.

Users may now immediately access the Bing AI chatbot thanks to the new Bing button that is presently visible in the top right corner of the Edge browser. You won’t stay on your current web page because the chatbot interface opens in the Edge sidebar.

It is a known fact that the chatbot can do a lot of things, including giving you a summary of the website you are currently visiting. Nevertheless, you will soon be able to delete it if you don’t like it on the toolbar.

Removing the new Bing button from the Edge toolbar

As Microsoft Edge Canary users, it is possible to remove the new Bing button from the browser’s toolbar. Using the settings page, you have the choice to disable the button. To remove the new Bing button from the Edge toolbar, just follow the actions listed below:

First of all, open Microsoft Edge Canary, then click the three-dot view ellipsis in the top right corner, here you will be prompted to click the settings and the sidebar. Once that is done, find the App specific settings, then click on discover and finally, click the Show Discover toggle to remove the new Bing button from the Edge toolbar.

As a matter of fact, if you follow the above method accordingly, you will no longer see the sidebar if you have not turned on the always show sidebar toggle.

All in all, it should be noted that if you are using Edge Stable or any other Channel, you will not be able to disable it. Nonetheless, it shouldn’t take long for Microsoft to make the feature available to all Edge users across several Channels. Accordingly, if you are using Edge Stable, you may get the option to remove the new Bing button a bit later.
