Microsoft is set to launch a new version of the Xbox Home experience, and testers in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings will be able to preview the updated design this week. The company has taken into consideration the feedback it has received from users to make changes to the top of the Home screen.

The redesign comes after Microsoft received feedback from users that the changes to the top of Home felt crowded and didn’t leave enough space for them to enjoy their background. The team at Xbox took this feedback to heart and designed hundreds of options, refined them with prototypes, and user-tested them in their research labs until they found a design that balances accessibility, function, and the needs of the community.

One of the standout features of the new design is the introduction of a quick-access menu at the very top of the Home screen. This menu provides easy navigation to your library, the Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass, search, and settings, making it easier for gamers to find what they’re looking for quickly and efficiently.

To create more space for users to enjoy their backgrounds, the size of some tiles has been reduced and moved to the bottom of the screen. This simplifies the layout and allows for more room to display your chosen background. Additionally, a responsive game art feature has been added to update the default background and show off the beautiful art associated with each title when you hover over the tiles.

In addition to these changes, Microsoft has also updated the tile that opens “My games & apps” to let you know when there’s something new or needs your attention. As with any new release, the experience is not final, and users may see updates either from their library or the Microsoft Store. However, the team at Xbox is excited to hear what users think of the new design and hopes that it will enhance their overall gaming experience.

Overall, Microsoft’s new Xbox Home experience promises to provide an easier and more intuitive navigation experience, while also creating more space for users to enjoy their chosen background and showcase beautiful game art. With the rollout to testers beginning this week, gamers can look forward to an improved gaming experience in the near future.
