In January this year, the DJI Air 3 was first leaked to succeed the DJI Air 2s, which was released in April 2021. The leaker revealed the new upcoming drone will likely be released in July 2023 with improved specs over the Air 2s to keep the drone market share intact. However, as we are moving closer to the date, the popular drone tipster has just uncovered some leaked images of the expected DJI Air 3 drone.

Tipster DealsDrone uncovered several images of the upcoming DJI Air 3 drone in a recent tweet via its official Twitter. Although the leaker did not disclose any information regarding the launch date the leaked images show that the DJI Air 3 is in a testing state. Therefore, the new Air drone series is likely to announce any time soon, probably next month or July as earlier affirmed.

DJI Air 3 Expected Specs

One of the leakers in January, @Bogdanov tweeted that the DJI Air 3 is expected to be released in late June or early July 2023 and will be coming in a 1-inch sensor -3x 1/1.3-inch or 7x 1/2-inch telephoto lens, with 4g -30m. As we all know that the current take-off weight of Air 2s is 595g, therefore, with electronics getting smaller and smaller, the drone giant may be bringing the upcoming Air 3 weight down to 500g or less.

Meanwhile, as claimed by the earlier leaker, the new DJI Air 3 will feature improved specs over the current Air 2s, therefore, we anticipate the latest Air series to feature upgraded video resolution and low-light performance as well as supporting USB-C charging and Intelligent flight features. In thought, these features will make the DJI Air 3 stand out among other drones including the DJI Mavic 3 and the DJI Avata.

Coming to the pricing no information regarding that is revealed currently. However, looking at the existing DJI drone lineup, starting from the DJI Mini 3 Pro with the standard RC-N1 controller goes for $759 while the DJI Air 2 is $999, and the DJI Mavic 3 Classic is priced at $1599. Therefore, It is expected to see the new DJI Air 3 for $1,063. Thus, stay connected with TechGenyz for more updates.
