Samsung has rolled out update for the Gear S2 – now owners of the wearables can get features what we have seen in Gear S3. The South Korean tech giant continues to update the 1-year-old smartwatch, and the latest of which arrived earlier this week.

Gear S2 owners will now be able to download Gear S3 watch faces via the Galaxy Apps store. The new Reminders app that lets users manage to-do lists and the Alti-Barometer that tracks outdoor activities and measures air pressure. Gear S3 was launched at IFA this year with enhanced feature like allowing users to accept calls while twisting counter clockwise rejects the call and dismisses notifications, timers, and others. With the new update the same feature will be enabled in the Gear S2 as well.

The messaging app has also been redesigned. The Gear S2 now supports handwriting in three languages – English, Korean and Chinese. This feature can also be used to insert tiny sketches into your messages. Users who do not want to write messages on screen can also depend on voice-input function.

Another updated feature of the Gear S2 is the S Health app which will automatically recognize functions for carrying out more activities. The range of activities it can now recognize are rowing-machine sessions. It can also track for various exercises like walking, cycling, squats, lunges, crunches and jumping jacks.

Users will also notice how the Gear S2 now has wider support for third-party widgets. Some of the Widgets that have been added to the device are from popular apps, such as Yelp, Uber, USA Today and many more. Finally, the Gear S2 update also brings support for more interactive games, such as “Stack” and “Monster Vampire.” The Galaxy Apps store also features over 100 titles, so everyone can really enjoy the smart watch experience.

It provides better security feature. A new location tracking feature allows users to send their location in an emergency to predefined contacts.
