Facebook is really serious about Messenger and the app got a brand-new feature – you can now play games right on the messaging platform. The social media giant today rolled out the new feature; now, users can play their favorite game on the go with their friends. And interestingly, you don’t require any special plugin or app to download.

Messenger Gems

Facebook now supports different popular games on Messenger along with chat. The new feature was initially rolled out in 30 countries with 17 games, and will be available on the latest versions of iOS 8+ and Android 5+ operating systems. This new feature was added by the company to let users spend more time on its messaging app.

We’ve made it very simple to start playing: In the latest version of the app, open a conversation with a friend, tap on the game controller icon just below where you type your message, and choose a game to start playing right away.

You can play the game in between the conversation; just tap on a game controller icon to choose a game and start playing. The app is loaded with 17 games like PAC-MAN, EverWing, SPACE INVADERS, TRACK & FIELD 100M, Galaga, and many other Instant Games. On the game itself, you can ask your friends to participate, and after you finish a round, they can see your score and will have the opportunity to challenge you back. This is surely a cool feature for the users who like to get in touch with their friends while at the same time having fun with them.

Facebook is undoubtedly the king in the instant messaging space, and around 1 billion people use Messenger every month to connect with their friends and families. The company in F8 this year announced that it would work more on bringing new features to Messenger, and it is already integrated with several other services.
