It isn’t always possible to write and send emails consecutively at the same time. The new Send Later feature of Outlook lets you schedule your written emails to send whenever you wish. After you are done drafting an email, you need to select Send Later from the drop-down next to Send. Select your date and time of when you wish to send the email, and it will be saved in your Drafts folder. The email will be automatically sent at your wanted time, even if your Outlook or computer is not on at that point.

Office Insiders Fast users can avail this feature from today onwards. Office 365 users can avail the same from July. Check Can I delay or schedule the delivery of email messages in Outlook 2016 for Mac? for more details.

Delivery and Read Receipts for Tracking Your Emails

Often it is important for you to know that your email has been not just delivered to, but also read by your recipient. The delivery and read receipts are now supported by Outlook for Mac. A delivery receipt lets you know that your email has been delivered to your recipient’s inbox, but not that it has been seen or opened by the recipient. A read receipt will confirm you that your email was opened.

Your recipient can decline to send read receipts in Outlook for Mac. Check Request a read receipt or delivery notification for more details.

Email Templates for Writing Emails Faster

Another new addition in Outlook for Mac is the feature of email templates, which makes things easier for you in sending same emails repetitively. Also, certain emails contain information that requires changes every next time, which is again sufficed by the email templates. Create Calendar Events and Tasks from Emails

Certain important info in your emails makes your entire day work through. These tasks require scheduling to be parts of your day so that they can be completed within time. outlook for Mac now lets you drag and drop emails to the calendar directly in order to reserve the time. The email subject becomes the subject of the calendar, and the notes field contains the email body.

The task users can use the same process. You can drag your email to task view for creating new items.

Developed Account Setup Experience

The Add Account experience in Outlook for Mac has been simplified. Previously, you required knowledge on details of your account type (e.g., IMAP, POP, Office 365 or Exchange). Now, Outlook will automatically detect your account settings after you provide your email address, and then will guide you through the entire process. You may also be signed in with the same email to other Office apps even before using Outlook. In that case, you will automatically be asked if you want to add the account.
