Good news for Apple lovers, the company is going to launch a new file application for iOS 11. This week a new placeholder listing has gone live on the App Store named ‘Files’ application ahead of the WWDC keynote address. A 9to5Mac report suggests that the company might bring an expanded file system in the upcoming iOS 11.

There is no official confirmation yet; the leaked details in the App Store hint that the app is likely to come pre-installed in iOS 11. The app narration simply reads “File app for iOS,” which requires iOS 11+ and the developer listed as Apple lnc.

The listing was first discovered by developer Steven Troughton-Smith on Twitter, who also said that the app would only support 64-bit devices. This indicates that Apple is taking back its steps from 32bit devices this year with iOS 11 since there is a lack of 32-bit apps in App Store search results.

With the Files app, users will be able to delete apps on iOS 11, which is currently not possible. We all are familiar with File System – this is used to store and manage personal documents but not access everything stored within iOS. The enhanced file management system has been an ordinary request for iOS users, especially with the iPad.

The file management approach of Apple has faltered over the years. As well as, the company has argued that there is no need for a file system over iOS. It has since had a scattered change of opinion, bringing things like iCloud Drive to iOS but still not offering users full control over their files.
