Amid the MacBook Pro battery life issues controversy Apple is enhancing battery performance in the macOS Sierra. Accoring to a MacRumors report Apple’s latest macOS beta comes with new warning feature – macOS 10.12.3 beta 4 includes a new Display Brightness item. This feature will give users a warning about the battery life when the display is drawing significant energy.
The macOS beta provides up to 10 hrs of battery on a single charge for web browsing and iTunes movie playback. Tapping on the warning will lower users display brightness to a safe zone. If Mac’s brightness is set below 75 %, it will not be listed as using significant energy. And if it is set above 75% brightness or at least 13 out of 16 notches, a new item called “Display Brightness” is listed under the battery menu.
In case of full brightness, macOS will inform users if the display is using up significant energy.
All users need is a macOS Sierra Beta installed on their MacBook. The new feature is currently available to beta testers and will be widely available to macOS Sierra users soon.
