According to a new report by SamMobile, Samsung is going to ditch the 3.5mm audio jack in Galaxy S8. This means the upcoming device becomes sleeker, and the extra spaces can be used to add a larger battery or for other hardware specs.

Instead of the slot for an audio jack, there will be a USB Type-C port, and users will have to use an adaptor to connect their headphones. According to other reports, Galaxy S8 will be available in two variants – one will feature a 5.1-inch QHD resolution display, and the other will sport a 5.5-inch 4K resolution Super AMOLED display. Both are expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 830 processor in some markets and Exynos 8895 CPU in others.

Furthermore, Samsung plans to use brand new materials to decrease energy consumption and probably to choose the standard RGB pixel format rather than a Diamond PenTile array. This will increase the variety of pixels from 7,372 800 to 11,059,200, which will enhance the pixel density to be used in digital actuality headsets. The handset can also be tipped to include a built-in stereo audio system offered by its newest acquisition, Harman.

Moreover, Galaxy S8 will have a combination of 12MP and 13MP rear sensors. If the rumors are to be taken under consideration, the smartphone is expected to have an iris scanner which we saw in Galaxy Note 7. This time the company will add a higher camera on the front – the selfie camera is expected to be upgraded to an 8MP from the present 5MP in the Galaxy S7.

There is no official confirmation regarding the launch date of the device, but we might expect to get good news during Mobile World Congress in February next year.
